In this story of romance and time travel, Eric and Sara’s dream of a wonderful
life is ruined by an auto accident just after the wedding, as they depart for
their honeymoon. Sara dies and Eric, recovered but alone, loses his will to
live. He leaves his New England community in the dead of night and begins a
20-year exodus from home, migrating across the country and living anonymously
in a diversity of cities. He eventually settles in New Orleans, where he
finally achieves a modicum of stability and success. However, he decides to
return home after a long-term love affair ends. Driving along the Atlantic
coast, Eric gets lost in South Carolina, unaccountably driving inland, where
he is subjected to a supernatural experience at a roadhouse, involving
personages long departed. This confrontation leads to a roadside vision of the
long-dead Sara beckoning to him; his truck crashes in the woods, where he
wakes to find himself 25 years in the past, about 5 years before he and Sara
have their fatal accident. He returns home with a vague idea of helping the
couple escape their destiny; his objective is to somehow ensure they avoid, or
survive, the fatal crash. He lives tangibly in his past, knowing his younger
self, Sara, their families and friends; his strategy solidifies and, after
revealing himself to his father and ultimately gaining his assistance, comes
up with a plan attempting to save Sara and his younger self; there are many
twists and turns. About the Author: The work was composed by David Scott Glassman. He has been fortunate to have a wonderful, nurturing childhood and a fascinating education. He has two Ivy League degrees (B.S./M.S.Ed.); he is currently working toward his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in England. David seeks a career in Family Therapy because his own life has been so rich that this seems the best possible way to give back something to the community that has already benefited him so generously. |
