Since the end of World War II, the economic gap between rich and poor countries has increased steadily. Trade, Growth and Development examines this disparity and assesses the reasons why some developing countries have been more economically successful than others.

The contributors provide both theoretical and empirical coverage of a wide range of countries, from some of the poorest in the world to the wealthiest. The essays examine recent developments in the theory of trade, growth and economic development, and provide an empirical analysis of policy and performance in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
