The year is 2647, and on planet Tergon, Sierra Merritt, heir to Merritt Industrial, stares glumly at her embossed wedding invitation.  Sierra is married to her job, with no room for another “husband,” of any kind.  Enter the groom, Jack—Jonathan Bain Wright the Third, a Tergonian shapeshifter and major shareholder in Wright Enterprises.  Neither bride nor groom wishes to marry a partner sight unseen and think a merger should end at the business level, with the old tradition of “marriage” left to the older crowd who actually believes in happily-ever-after. 

But destiny awaits them both in a pleasure club, where a bridal shower and bachelor party intersect.  Mistaken identities, heavy sex, and burgeoning love mark Sierra and Jack as fate and duty war for dominance.  Can a shifter find a traditional happily-ever-after with a human who makes him feel what no human should?  And can Sierra convince Jack her love is real?
