Swift Mercury Raiders Summary

"The rocketship had a practical design, Jake Banks noted with satisfaction. He accepted the cigar offered him by Professor Lexus Dongeonalt."

With those words, Professor Reginald Ottoman began the first of a series of pulp adventures that would take hero Jake Banks to every planet, and several moons, in the solar system. Jerome McCrombe read and re-read those books throughout his childhood and into his adult life. The worlds and cultures Ottoman created seemed so real.

When Jerome McCrombe bought the house once owned by Ottoman, he had no idea he would discover the secret to Ottoman's storytelling success; that his books were not so much pulp adventure as they were travel diaries. The full-sized rocketship in a hidden basement should have been McCrombe's first clue.

When his lovely real estate agent, Margaret Humble, accidentally triggers the rocket's engines McCrombe must use all of his memories of the stories to survive a crash landing on Mercury, and right the wrongs of the original adventurers.
