When Zachary Zaremba leaves engineering school to work for International Instruments, he wants little more from his career than to be able to do useful work. Little does he suspect that useful work is a negligible part of an engineer's job, particularly when that job is an Air Force contract that was bid with impossible-to-meet specs. After weeks of being ignored by his bosses, he is picked out for the fast track to management, and he gets promoted to higher levels of project management as the senior engineers unravel. |
