His form stooped a little in the shoulders, perhaps with weariness, but he carried himself with the unconscious air of one long used to a position of conspicuous power and influence. |

| Is a story about people changing their character for the better. The Shepard in the book is the person the tale revolves around. The village people are the ones needing help to change. They come to the Shepard with their problems, and he gives advice and tries to help solve them. All In all a good book. A bit predictable and endearing. This book was made into a movie staring John Wayne. Please Note: This book has been reformatted to be easy to read in true text, not scanned images that can sometimes be difficult to decipher.
