The Pluton Conspiracy: A Novel Summary

Ten days before the Canadian election, a political secretary in Ottawa inadvertently discovers a document outlining a deal to give an American corporation exclusive Canadian fresh water exportation rights. She passes on the document to her long time friend who is a political correspondent for a Halifax newspaper. Not wanting to keep the document on them, they mail it to a Post Office Box. Before they can decide what to do next, the secretary is murdered. The correspondent panics and flies off to Vancouver to get help from her ex-military boyfriend, who now runs his own security company. The politician's cohorts have her cornered in Vancouver, but she is saved by her lover. The two of them become embroiled in a cross-country race against time to retrieve the document and discover who the perpetrators are. Fate puts them on the same train with the campaigning politician, who, with the aid of his American benefactor will stop at nothing to recover the document that could change history.
