This text responds to the lack of investigations of issues confronting the practice of administrators and teachers in contemporary Australian primary schools. Meeting the Challenges of Primary Schooling is written by practitioners and academics working together. Each chapter gives their joint insights into how a particular school is using the possibilities and challenges presented by government initiatives to improve current parctices. The case studies are grouped into three topic areas: school management, social justice and the curriculum, and classroom practice. Together they provide an interesting and challenging view for school leaders and staff to consider when reflecting upon their own practices and planned development.
