About the Author:

RANDY WORTHEY began his career in the pool industry in 1976 doing clean-ups around newly constructed pools for one of the largest pool builders in the country. After two years he worked his way up to construction supervisor, where he oversaw the construction of over 200 pools per year. In 1980 he became the Vice President of United Pools in Houston Texas, where he remained until 1984 and decided to get his college degree. In 1989 Randy graduated Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aircraft Systems, but his love for the pool industry brought him right back. That same year he became the construction manager for Blue Haven Pools one of the worlds largest pool builders located in San Antonio, Texas, and later becoming the General Manager for them at their Houston South Office Working for such a large builder Randy did not have the time to “get personal” with the homeowners so he struck out on his own and began his own smaller more personal pool company where he has been since. Through the years Randy has seen over and over again frustrated customers, mostly because they did not do the research or ask specific question before signing a contract. The reason he decide to write this book is to help those potential customers buy a pool for less money overall and endure the least amount of suffering throughout the construction process.
