The story of two men and the Universe they're exposed to. One man gets to see the very secrets of Creation itself and the other ends up living the most incredible adventure a man could ever conceive of in his wildest imaginings! The latter is accompanied in his adventures by a troupe of a dozen cloned French actors, six male and six female, with a spectrum of personalities and temperaments. There's Fevrier, the actors' actor; Mondidi, the grand dame; Vendredi, the modern chanteuse and martial arts adept; Avril, the technocrat and tinkerer and Mercredi, the vinegar tempered actress that perhaps took her predilection for portraying witches and sorceresses too far, and seven others, equally distinct. This is a character-driven story with intriguing situations of a far-reaching nature, dealing with the always-cogent concepts of being a stranger in a strange land, of the origins and very nature of the Universe and the basic American concepts of life, liberty and the pursuit of anybody who wants to stifle same. It has all the prerequisite technological wonders of a story set in the future, but is here handled a little more realistically than they might be in already accepted sci-fi franchises. Once exposed to Oswald, Ralph, the troupe Gar?on/Thierry and the rest, I guarantee you you won't be able to put down "The Last Voyage of the Cassiopeia"! |
