Kage Baker was born in Hollywood in 1952 and now resides in Pismo Beach, Clam Capital of the World. In addition to writing numerous novels and short stories, she is an artist, actor and director for As You Like It Productions and has taught Elizabethan English for the stage. Volume 1 of Kage Baker: Short Stories contains seven of her "The Company" stories, including "The Fourth Branch" and "Noble Mold;" and many more excellent short works, spanning the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres.
