Elizabeth Abbot has to come back to her hometown because her brother made a bad real estate deal and used their house as collateral. Worst, he borrowed the money from the Jessop family, which is the most powerful family in town. Elizabeth has always resented their power and influence. She goes to the Jessop house to plead for more time to pay off the loan so she won't lose the family home. The elder Jessop is in the hospital and his son Kyle has come home from the city to take care of his affairs. Away at boarding school growing up, Elizabeth has never set eyes on the handsome, yet arrogant Kyle Jessop until now. When they first meet, he finds Elizabeth poking through his files on the desk. The sparks fly between Elizabeth and Kyle. She is asked to come to the hospital to see his father. Since Elizabeth is a nurse, he tells her he will help her with the loan if she comes to stay at the house and give him nursing care when he gets out of the hospital. Elizabeth does not want to spend time with Kyle Jessop in his house, but she has no choice. More sparks fly and a deep physical attraction grows between them. There are some sexual scenes. One night Kyle tries to make love to Elizabeth. She loses control, until his ex-lover walks in on them. She forms the worst opinion of Kyle. Kyle doesn't understand why she is so cold towards him. She leaves town to go back to work and so does Kyle. In the end, Kyle's father fakes a heart attack in order to bring Elizabeth back to town. Finally, she explains to Kyle why she was so cold. Kyle tells her that there is no longer anything between his ex and him. He is extremely hurt that she would think he was the kind of man to romance two women at once. Realizing what she's done, Elizabeth tries to find him to apologize. She ends up at her house and confesses how she feels to her brother. Kyle is in the other room and hears her. In the end, of course, they come together. The Jessop'... |
