| A wanting-to-be-King story from a novel by Rolf A. F. Witzsche. The story touches on five vital issues that are often missed by society. Those might be more important issues than one may realize. 1. Democracy means taking responsibly. 2. A President is NOT an elected king - if he plays king, fire the man for incompetence. 3. Society IS king! This king cannot be fired. It must cherish its humanity and BE King. 4. There are no innocent victims when society fails itself in its duties. 5. The principle of economics is the Principle of Universal Love (not greed-based fascism). The story takes place in the mid 1980s in East Germany. It is a political story presented in the form of a dialog between two close friends, both Americans. One is a renowned scientist, a Professor of Theoretical Physics resident in Communist Germany with access to a large academic network reaching deep into the Soviet Union. The other is a junior diplomat on a mission to test the waters of how the sudden western financial collapse, which the story is centered on, is being viewed by the Soviet leadership in the hope that the unearthed evidence will prevent the President's planned nuclear preemption. The story is a chapter of Episode 3 of the nine-part series of novels, The Lodging for the Rose, by Rolf A. F. Witzsche. |
