About the Author:
The author, Sandra L. Tumbarello, is a licensed US Customs Broker and ISO 9000 certified auditor. Over the past decade, Sandra has worked for Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders and a Global Manufacturer in the Energy Market. It wasn’t until her position as, Customs Manager, for the Global Manufacturer that Sandra decided to try and obtain her Broker’s license. Even with the resulting license, Sandra has focused her efforts on providing specialized services to the import/export community rather than providing actual brokerage clearance services. All of her years as the, Customs Manager, provided Sandra with the compassion for teaching and assisting companies in trying to manage daily activities with compliance responsibilities. Running a business, in and of itself, is so extremely time consuming that US trade regulations added into the mix is just overwhelming and many times goes without proper attention until it’s too late. Sandra tries to provide information in a format that relates to the importer/exporter frustrations and with the understanding of time constraints.
