Callie has also fallen into this evil manÆs hands. Desperate to save Colin from certain death, Callie fabricates a story of lies, telling Colin she does not love him. Manipulated by her enemies, Callie believes she has betrayed the man she loves. Even if he survives, he will never forgive her. She is sick at heart but determined to find a way to gain back all that she has lost. Thoughts of Callie keep Colin hanging on to life. After escaping, Callie and Colin head back to Scotland where their love begins to grow. Yet Callie is still desperate for answers about her father. She responds to a message from her stepbrother. Too late, she discovers trickery. Her stepbrother means to lure Colin to his death. Colin rides to rescue the woman he loves. He cannot bare the thought of living without her. He understands that she has always been a victim and that she has never betrayed him. He will risk all to save her even if it means his certain death. Despite the danger, Colin races to Callie and sweeps her into his arms, rescuing her and killing her stepbrother. The past is finally put to rest. Callie yearns for words of love as well as forgiveness. When Colin takes the final step and destroys the last barrier standing between them, telling her he loves her, has loved her from the first and nothing she can do will ever change that, she knows she has found true love. Callie tells Colin she loves him and she would never betray him, her loyalty to him is true. Finally she has fulfilled the vow she made her father. She has found a man she can trust, cherish and love forever. Colin has fulfilled the vow he made to himself on his fatherÆs grave.
