| James, the new Duke of Hawkthorn, is finally home and ready to repair the estate and restore it to its former glory, just the way Granddad, the former and now deceased Duke would have liked it. James's father cared little for estate business, and it had all but fallen to ruin. But, no more. All would be safely under the guidance and control of the organized and efficient new Duke. And one other thing--it was time to find a husband for his ward: Julia, who had befriended his much younger brother and had been a silly pest to him in his own younger days. She was just a child when he had left, and now--such a beautiful woman. Yes, it was high time to find that girl a suitable husband. A Christmas party at the house would bring young men and women together, and James was sure he could play Cupid. He didn't count on his own feelings toward Julia changing so much and he didn't count on his grandfather, in ghostly form, stepping in and to play a little Cupid himself... |
