It has been generally observed that those who opt for Literature are afraid of Mathematics and Science, while those who adopt Science and Mathematics are seldom interested in Literature. However exceptions are always there and such is the case with Mr. Rafiq.

Besides having a first class academic career throughout, Mr. Rafiq topped the list for U. P. Service of Engineers selected by Public Service Commission in the year 1960. It is just amazing that his poetic art too bears a similar standard of excellence.

He is about 75 years and we pray that he lives long to glorify Urdu Poetry more and more and provide us occasion to publish him again and again.

A. Rashid translated Urdu verses in to Hindi, while English translations have been done by Dr. Sami-Un-Nisa, the celebrated author of Autumn Leaves and The Small Town Woman.
