The Four Just Men Summary

FROM THE KING OF THE BRITISH THRILLER! Four freedom fighters who have survived torture and imprisonment at the hands of repressive regimes swear to bring vengeance on the highly placed bankers, politicians, businessmen, munitions manufacturers, and corrupt officials who make the existence of such tyrannies possible. In Edgar Wallace's The Four Just Men, one person after another, whose hands are stained with the blood of innocents, is assassinated - despite all the forces of the law do to protect them. But no one knows who the Four Just Men are or how they perform their assassinations. Then Scotland Yard puts its greatest detective on the case. But whose side are his sympathies on? As the clues pile up and the police close in, the Four Just Men swear to put an end to one last suppressor of freedom - no matter what the danger. The world waits breathless with one question on its mind: Can they be stopped and should they be stopped? Hailed as one of the greatest of all British thrillers, The Four Just Men is a classic of the first rank. "Top flight. Exciting." - Roger Elwood "The most popular thriller writer of all time!" - The Encyclopedia of Mystery and Detection

This is an awe-inspiring and thrilling book about four men who fight against injustice and lawlessness. The portrayal of four characters is timeless who are heroes and play distinct roles. The book is a crystal-clear substantiation of spectacular characterization as four heroes stands apart from each other in their semblance. It is full of excitement and suspense. Entertaining!

The Four Just Men , first published in 1905, was the novel that made Edgar Wallace famous as a writer of detective thrillers. A Spanish resistance leader's safety in England is threatened by the passage through Parliament of the Aliens Extradition Bill. The minister responsible receives a message from four mysterious figures, `The Four Just Men', warning him that he faces death unless he withdraws the legislation. Edgar Wallace maintains the suspense and excitement as the police struggle to protect the minister before the deadline imposed by the conspirators is reached. Included in this edition is the later novel, The Council of Justice , which forms a sequel.
