Family Solutions for Youth at Risk is a presentation of an effective model program for reaching at-risk youth which provides background theory and research regarding the establishment of a multiple family group intervention program. With case studies and observations to support model techniques, the model provides a social climate for the creation of emotional connections. The inclusion of parents or guardians provides an opportunity for the recognition of the parts adults play in the overall situation of these youths; it enhances communication within the family, reduces blame directed at the child, improves family decision-making skills and provides a sense of renewed involvement in the overall life of the youth.
