Eat My Globe: One Year to Go Everywhere and Eat Everything Summary
| Simon Majumdar's mission is simple: go everywhere and eat everything. Though his job in book publishing was not bad as 9-5's go, as Majumdar hurtled towards his middle years he realized, ""There has to be more to life than this."" There's a whole big world out there, and he'd hardly eaten any of it. So he quit his job to spend his life savings on a mission that would take him to 30 countries, into the kitchens of food-obsessives the world over, where he would eat cod sperm sushi--so you don't have to. This is also a story about family. Simon keeps a popular food blog with his brother, fondly referred to as The Great Salami, and the whole Majumdar clan signpost their lives by what they have eaten and when. A story that will move you, make you laugh, and make you hungry, it will hopefully also help Majumdar get this out of his system so he can get on with his real life. We doubt it, though. |
