The Doctor and the Dead Man's Chest Summary:

Dr. Andrew Fenimore is an old fashioned doctor, often making house calls to his elderly patients. In his third adventure, a deceased patient has left him marshland in southern New Jersey that she would like him to preserve. Her will also states that there is rumored to be hidden treasure somewhere on the property and she suggests that he go looking for it.

Intrigued by the suggestion, Dr. Fenimore and his young assistant, Horatio, check the area out. Once there they realize that they will need a boat in order to really survey the land. Dr. Fenimore then remembers that one of his patients, Lydia Ashley, lives in the area. Led by a dreadful stench when they reach Lydia's land, they come upon a butchered cow hanging from an iron pick on the side of the barn. A photo of Lydia attached to the cow reads "sell" on the back.

Dr. Fenimore learns from Lydia that a landfill company wants her land and that a number of strange things have been occurring on her property.

The doctor winds up investigating this mystery as well as looking for his treasure.
