The Death of Ivan Ilych in Extra Large Print Summary

The Death of Ivan Ilyich first published in 1886, is a novela written by Tolstoy shortly after his conversion to Christianity. It is the story of the life and death, at the age of 45, of a judge in 19th-century Russia He is above all an upwardly mobile striver, a miserable husband, and a proud father. He is leading what seems to be the good life, when he is stricken by inexplicable medical complaints. After months of anguish and days of intense pain he feels pity for those he is leaving behind and finds calm and an end to his pain.
