The Critique of Judgement Summary

Were judgements of taste (like cognitive judgements) in possession of a definite objective principle, then one who in his judgement followed such a principle would claim unconditioned necessity for it. Again, were they devoid of any principle, as are those of the mere taste of sense, then no thought of any necessity on their part would enter one's head.

Germany's most renowned philosopher, his writings deal in part with rational understanding. Kant was the first major philosopher to make his living as a teacher of the subject. Critique of Judgement (1790) - Presents Kant's aesthetic philosophy. This work contains some new ideas, but it is commonly seen as a series of addenda to his earlier Critiques.
