Chamber Story Summary
| Tom Purdom is a professional music critic and his love of chamber music is evident in this piece, which is a "prequel" to his "Romance" series of short stories. In the 22nd century, science allows anyone to receive modifications that will allow them to be professional level musicians with just a year or two of practice (rather than the lifetime of practice usually required today). This story follows the romantic ups and downs of several such chamber musicians. A great story, especially for the musically-inclined. Purdom captures the rapture of musicians playing for the sheer joy of it especially well in this piece. |
