At the Mouse Circus | Harlan Ellison | Fantasy | Fantasy | eBooks
| This story is written in a Kafka-esque, nightmarish style, and is filled with rich language and symbolism. If you like a heavy dose of surrealism every now and then, if you occassionally like to read something that is miles away from the nearest mainstream footpaths, if you sometimes feel a need to have your view of reality assaulted, then this story is for you. If you need to *understand* what's going on at every plotpoint and you aren't a fan of surrealistic writing, pick something else! The story traces a man's quest to understand his surroundings and find meaning in his life. At least, that's how *I* interpret it, you might find something entirely different lurking in the intense imagery. (Some sexual content.) |
