You will not find lengthy discussions, scientific studies, or complicated rules here. What you will find is a set of quick and easy tidbits that can help you lose weight and become healthier. I am not a doctor or a nutritionist, and I do not pretend to be one. I have lost 60 pounds and these are the changes I have made to my life that have worked.

I am 5’4” and In 2001 I weighed about 230 pounds. I was at the mall shopping for jeans and discovered that I no longer fit into a size 18. I couldn’t take the idea of wearing a size 20, so I left the mall without buying anything, intent on losing weight. Over a period of six years I tried many diets and many forms of exercise, some of which worked, and some of which did not work at all. I'm now a size 10, but I still have 20-30 pounds to lose and am working on it every day.

In 2007 I created a 10 episode podcast series titled "Real Weight Loss" that was very well received. People seemed to find my perspective to be refreshing and direct, without a lot of filler nonsense. This is exactly what I had set out to do -- to present what I’d learned in an insightful, straightforward and simple manner. Perhaps the title of this ebook should be "101 Easy Ways To Lose Weight (and a few hard ways, too)." I think that the average person will find most of these ideas to be simple and easy, although I do acknowledge the fact that there are those who will feel that some of these tips are too hard. Do what works for you. The smallest of positive changes is an improvement over where you were.
