Reviews:
Twelve-year-old twins Larry and Janet Garrison
begin to find little people appearing in the oddest of places. A stop at
Limerick Caverns on St. Patrick’s Day leads to the most unexpected adventures
with magical things such as the Great Cornucopia, the Fountain of Truth, the
Rifle Tower and the Merry-go-Straight.
In Pot of Gold, author Jay Dubya has produced an
entertaining set of circumstances, people and characters. This is a fantasy that
transports the reader into a magical land where nothing is quite as might first
be thought. This book should have much appeal to the nine through
twelve-year-old set.

Stars out of 5: 5
The second book in a young adult fantasy trilogy,
POT OF GOLD is a delightful and attention-keeper written by Jay Dubya. It's a
creative fantasy adventure novel for pre-teens, ages eight through twelve years
of age.
The story begins with brother and sister
fraternal twins, Janet and Larry Garrison, cousins of David and Barbara Morgan
from the first book ENCHANTA. They're on their way to Skyline Drive in Virginia,
a place I know well, with their parents who are determined to teach their
children about history while having fun.
Immediately, Janet and Larry grow weary talking
during the drive and as they stare out the window, they spot some peculiar
little men dressed in green. Neither one knows what the other has seen. At
first, they keep it to themselves.
The fun begins when they stop at Limerick Caverns
and again spot a little man. They are quick to chase him into a strange new
land.
In no time, they learn that four little elves,
Rhymer, Prep, Stretch, and Nate need their help retrieving their missing gold.
On their journey, Larry, and Janet come across,
Evilla, a wicked witch who enjoys petrifying the elves. In order to help the
elves, they learn that they must defeat her.
Follow Janet and Larry as they meet interesting
characters such as the Letter People, Puppet the Protector, and Chiron the
Centaur from Greek mythology. Take a crazy ride on a rainbow roller coaster, and
a risky cycle on the strange, but fun merry-go-straight.
Can Evilla stop being an evil witch? Will Janet
and Larry find the stolen gold? And lastly, how will they get back to where
their parents are?
Jay Dubya is the writing name of John Wiessner,
an extremely talented children's author. Mr. Dubya is a retired English teacher
after teaching in public schools for thirty-four years, which is quite an
accomplishment. He is married to Joanne and has three grown sons. Jay Dubya
lives in Hammonton, New Jersey. He is a multi-published author in several
different genres.
POT OF GOLD is the second book in the young adult
fantasy novel, the other two titles are: ENCHANTA, and SPACE BUGS: EARTH
INVASION.
As an author, mother of three children, and a
children's book reviewer, I highly recommend the works of Jay Dubya.
