A native son of the San Francisco and Oakland Bay Area, he traveled the world, seal hunting in Japan and exploring the Yukon during the gold rush, reporting on wars and social situations in London, Korea, and the South Pacific. He became one of the most famous people in America and one of the first celebrity endorsers. But as he reached his 40s, kidney failure and addiction to morphine became his downfall. THE WOLVES OF EDEN will contain much of the swashbuckling excitement and romance of TCDCP but will add a deeper level of themes of morality and redemption. Moreover, the themes of London?s life: the beauty and terror of nature, the wisdom of animals, particularly dogs and wolves, and the early days of psychology and analysis will make this an extremely topical read.
