Nasky...eine beinahe wahre Geschichte Summary:

1938: In einer Österreichischen Provinzhauptstadt übernehmen die Nazis die Macht. Alle die vorher heimlich Mitglieder der NSDAP gewesen sind, kommen aus ihren Löchern gekrochen und fühlen sich groß und bedeutend. Die Honoratioren der Stadt, ebenfalls in die Partei eingetreten, bleiben weiter in Amt und Würden und spinnen nach wie vor ihre Beziehungsnetze. Benjamin Nasky, ein österreichischer Kunstmaler, verläßt zur gleichen Zeit das Land in Richtung Süden. Als er zurückkehrt, haben sich die Zustände in unerfreulicher Weise verändert. Es ist schwer geworden, wieder Fuß zu fassen, wenn man arm und arbeitslos ist. Alles und jeder wird kontrolliert, beim geringsten Vergehen kommt man in Gewahrsam. So ergeht es auch Nasky. Nach der Haftentlassung bleibt ihm so nichts anderes übrig, als sich freiwillig zur Front zu melden. Hier wird er als Kradmelder in Frankreich eingesetzt. Daß der Krieg kein Zuckerschlecken ist, merkt Nasky spätestens an der Ostfront. Zudem erkennt er schnell die Aussichtslosigkeit des Krieges und hat folglich wenig Lust, sich für „Großdeutschland“ erschießen zu lassen. Seine politischen Ansichten und sein Verhalten bringen ihn unter der Anklage des Landesverrats und der Feigheit vor dem Feind einmal mehr ins Zuchthaus. Die Haftstrafe wird allerdings bis zum Kriegsende ausgesetzt. Nach dem Krieg geht er zunächst nach Köln, gemeinsam mit Alma, der Frau, die er in Polen kurz vor Kriegsende geheiratet hatte. Doch in Köln er findet keine Arbeit, die Ehe leidet unter den ungünstigen sozialen Umständen und wird geschieden. Schließlich findet Nasky eines Tages doch eine Arbeit und zudem eine neue Lebensgefährtin. Doch bald wirft die übermächtige Bürokratie und die rachsüchtige katholische Kirche, aus der er vor Jahren ausgetreten war, ihm Knüppel zwischen die Beine und verliert seine Stelle. Um all dem zu entrinnen, beschließt er in die DDR auszuwandern, nur, um vom Regen in die Traufe zu kommen. Und der Alptraum beginnt von vorne.
