The book authors are economists who have been studying church giving for the past decade. They use data from the American Congregation Giving Study to describe who gives to the Presbyterian Church, how we compare to four other denominations, what our religious motivations are, which programs we favor, and how we respond to different appeals.

About the Author:
For five years Dr. Scott Brunger served as a mission volunteer with the Presbyterian Church in West Africa. The cover picture shows him meeting with the youth minister and his lovely wife from the Presbyterian Church of Togo and the director of the Methodist Conference Center in Benin. Today he teaches economics and African Studies at Maryville College, a Presbyterian liberal arts college in Tennessee.

Dr. Charles Zech is a professor of economics at Villanova University where he has taught since 1974. He also serves as the Director of the Center for the Study of Church Management at Villanova. He is the author or co-author of over 75 books and articles, including "Money Matters: Personal Giving in American Churches," and "Plain Talk About Churches and Money."
