About the Author:
Shelley was a professional contemporary ballet dancer in New York City for many years touring and dancing fusion works of east west theater. Upon her decision to become a full time teacher, she certified as an Interdisicplinary Yoga Instructor fusing the methods of Astanga, Iyengar, and Kripalu and also became a certified Aromatherapist. She taught for the New York City Ballet education department and was the co-director of Nossen's Dance in Education. Shelley also taught yoga and dance therapy to mentally disturbed children at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center as well as developing a program to ease anxiety in Alzheimer patients through movement. Shelley currently teaches yoga to cancer patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

She is the author of the book, Peaceful Journey A Yogi’s Travel Kit, and writes a monthly column, The Ecstasy of Practice, in Sedona Journal magazine.

Shelley has gone through the deeksha process with Sri Amma and Sri Bhagavan in Golden City, India. Through their grace she can now transfer the energy of deeksha, an awakening of oneness, to others.

Shelley now offers private yoga & meditation instruction, specialty workshops, and deeksha.
