Ce projet a pris naissance dans le cadre des ?changes ?tablis entre le C?gep de Thetford et l'Iset de Gafsa. Notre volont? de voir s'?largir nos contacts, d'ouvrir sur des horizons culturels et litt?raires diff?rents des n?tres, a motiv? au d?part ce projet. Notre but ultime : parvenir ? une publication conjointe de textes qu?b?cois et tunisiens. Or, voici le produit de ces quelques r?cits qui portent sur le d?sert, th?me recoupant ici plusieurs r?alit?s et se rattachant ? la notion de vastitude. Le sujet nous a sembl? offrir, non seulement un espace, mais encore la singuli?re occasion d'explorer la cr?ation litt?raire ainsi que la d?couverte de l'autre. Les textes prennent donc racine dans des cultures parall?les qui se rejoignent en plusieurs axes dont celui de l'?change.

Le recueil rassemble treize textes litt?raires qu?b?cois et tunisiens. Ce livre s?accompagne, tant?t de photos qui ?voquent le d?sert, tant?t de photos qui le repr?sentent. Quelques citations d'auteurs reconnus chevauchent ces textes litt?raires. Nous avons surtout cherch? ? r?unir des textes aux couleurs vari?es, certains aux registres plus intimistes, d'autres aux tonalit?s plus descriptives. Nous souhaitons aussi laisser place ? la parole qui t?moigne de notre fureur de vivre dans un monde souvent difficile.

Nous terminons ici en adressant nos remerciements au C?gep de Thetford et, plus particuli?rement, ? madame Pierrette B?langer, qui nous a soutenus tout au cours de la production du recueil. Ce dernier n?aurait pas vu le jour sans la direction de Monsieur Mokhtar Farhat, qui a bien voulu orienter les ?l?ves tunisiens dans la production des r?cits. Nous d?sirons aussi souligner la contribution de monsieur R?mi Dussault pour les photos de notre r?gion et la g?n?rosit? de monsieur Pascal Poublan pour celles du d?sert de la Tunisie.
