The first engineered step is stress relief. Personal stress is self-generated, and can be partly controlled by personal attitudes. The deeper challenge is then examined one stressor at a time. The source for managerial stress is soon obvious, an abiding weakness in management. As each stressor is examined, we also examine how to relieve that stressor through application of well-accepted good-management practices. There are appropriate applications by both subordinate and superior managers. The cumulative effect is a general improvement in management, with both personal and organizational benefits. This general improvement in management is the way to promote organization-level performances.
